When life is waiting on circumstances outside your control, what do you do? Do you have hobbies to fill all the time with? Friends? Do you start something new?
The ancients were content with so much less than we generally aspire to today. I wonder how much free time they had or whether they filled it all with their processions.
With enlightenment not being a goal of its own and only so much work to go around I imagine they had to have leisure activities. Maybe I'm missing the passages that talk about that, or maybe I'm wrong and they stared at a wall all day long if they had nothing to do.
What do you think?
