A friend of mine who is a mystic here in the Bay Area was a proud member of the Merry Pranksters ala Ken Kesey. In his words he said, “The East is a meditation on isolation and silence, The West is a meditation on chaos and abundance.” I don’t necessarily believe it to be the truth, it’s just an interesting paradox to bring into meditation. ~namaste ~
