ewk book note index - r/Zen gets a steady stream of religious people who are terrified that reading books will undermine their faith. This is a very reasonable fear. All over the world, throughout history, books have driven a wedge of doubt into the minds of religious people.
Nobody who studies Zen thinks that knowledge is the Way. But religious people, so terrified , that knowledge is all it takes to destroy faith, can't stop complaining about knowledge, as if that was of any use to a Zen student.
What is of use to a Zen student?
