Help^15

I assure you that the one who comprehends the truth of 'nothing to be attained' is already seated where he will gain his enlightenment. -- THE ZEN TEACHING OF HUANG PO, Grove Press, 1958 p.128

What if one does not comprehend 'nothing to be attained'? Where are they seated if not where enlightenment will be gained? How can one be seated anywhere than where they are? If we admit we cannot be seated anywhere than where we are, then what does that mean about where our enlightenment seating truly is? What is more difficult to admit: that enlightenment exists or that we have a seat where enlightenment can be gained? Why do I feel like enlightenment is beyond my capacity? Why do I feel like I do not have a seat? Who has no seat when the seat is not physical but somehow a seat that we reside within always even if we have no sensation of this being so?

WHY AM I NOT ENLIGHTENED?

Who else could ask such a question except an enlightened person? What is enlightened?

When the lotus opened and the universe lay disclosed, there arose the duality of Absolute and sentient world; or rather, the Absolute appeared in two aspects which taken together, comprise pure perfection. -- Ibid, p.130

What would the enlightened me see before me that the unenlightened me does not see right now? If there is no attainment then how would what I see before me change? If I admit that nothing would change in my vision then why do I feel as if I do not perceive the "Absolute", but only the "sentient world"?

How can I view the Absolute with the same eyes I have now if my eyes don't see the absolute? What if I can't identify the absolute? Who can show me what I can't discern with my own eyes? What if the absolute if a lie and Huang Po is a maniac?

tl;dr: New Person, Same Old Mistakes
