▲Chan/Zen investigation is analogous to climbing a crystal mountain. You keep on climbing upward and keep on falling downward. If you continue your investigation with the mind of perseverance and earnestness, one day you will find out that you are on top of the mountain, and actually there is no mountain. And you have returned home of the self-nature.
