True, Actual Belief

Master Ciming [quoting Yongjia] said,

”The true nature of ignorance is the nature of Buddhahood: the illusory empty body is itself embodiment of reality”—If you can actually believe in this you will undeniably save effort.

How any of this gets confused with Buddhism is beyond me—of course, I’m being a little silly here since the people claiming Zen is Buddhism aren’t literate in the family of Ciming in the first place. They just aren’t interested in discussing the meaning of Zen texts in the first place. They’d much rather come here, spam some religious bigotry, and then run off by deleting their accounts.

Anywho, saving effort from fruitless toil is what Zen teachings are all about. Actual belief is one side of things and demonstrating an understanding of the principle is the other. That’s why people who hide their life away in churches and meditation cults can’t claim to be upholding Zen—those are safe zones for no controversial, rocking-the-boat, i.e. Zen, questions.

Ciming goes on to say,

If you can turn awareness around to illumine within, you will spontaneously realize the original true nature is unborn and undying

Note that sitting rituals aren’t being taught here, a controversial point that still is enough to solicit targeted harassment on this forum.

Unborn and undying though…what’s your understanding of that?
