A monk asked Touzi, "The Master lives on this mountain—what realm is this?"
Touzi replied, "A maiden with her white hair rolled up into buns."1

A maiden with her silvery hair rolled into buns,
Snowflakes fly amidst the raging flames—
How do you propose to stay on the highest peak?
Idle clouds and flowing water do not return the same.
[0299c16] 丫角女子白頭絲。猛燄堆中雪片飛。一等住山誰可擬。閒雲流水不同歸。
1 ch. yājiǎo 丫角, is a hairstyle where the hair is rolled up into buns on each side of the head. It is associated with young women, and so can often have the connotation of an unmarried status and virginity.
