Second Letter: Taego to Shiwu

I took out a stick of incense from inside my robe for you, Old Teacher, and gave an account of the vehicle of the Zen school and help up the Teaching for the Last Age of the Dharma. But how could this repay your great benevolence, the milk of the Dharma? I dare not report it, it was a scene of the family's ugliness, a mess of low slang, trying hard to describe.

There's something hard to describe here, like being the last two people keeping the lights on in a powerplant for everyone else before the volcano just out of town explodes.

These guys were the truest of friends, with Taego going on to say:

I will always go by what you taught me: benefiting self and others according to what's appropriate, and not selling the Buddha Dharma cheap, so that we do not cut off our posterity in the future.

How do I express my gratitude?
