How about setting aside the books for a second and do an AMA about your understanding?
Let's see what sort of fire you've got inside of you.
Okay
1. Where have you just come from?
What are the teachings of your lineage, the content of its practice, and a record that attests to it? What is fundamental to understand this teaching?
I haven't left the house yet. No lineage, no practice, no record. Fundamentally, there is no teaching to understand.
2. What's your text?
What text, personal experience, quote from a master, or story from zen lore best reflects your understanding of the essence of zen?
I don't have a text or any understanding that is reflected anywhere.
3. Dharma low tides?
What do you suggest as a course of action for a student wading through a "dharma low-tide"? What do you do when it's like pulling teeth to read, bow, chant, sit, or post on r/zen?
Whatever arises, apply the dharma [of no dharma] and see where it arises. Though this is attributed to Bodhidharma, you should be careful what you take in.
