acting freely and achieving an outcome

Abstraction

let's start by saying, at one point or another we've always chased after something, a particular outcome. let's call this having it your bloody way. what's wrong of wanting it your way for once, what does zen masters say about having it your way?

from my point of ignorance, which is all this is for now, in the journey of becoming something better of yourself, and as well THIS that i am discussing relates to my daily life and my thoughts, and what i chase after, so on and so forth.

Questions

zen points out "your very nature is complete"

but what if the impusle of constructing comes about? what do you construct?

rambling of words and dialect that point to something that points out to something that points out?

Abstraction

when you chillax from the subconscious programs and patterns: (FROM BEATS To rhythms, to subdivisions, to topics and phrases your friend said, and the catchphrase from that movie, and that moment you stood up and drank water. then it proceeds:

CASES FROM THE WUMENGUAN

C16. When the Bell Sounds

Yúnméni

said, “The world is vast and wide. Why do you put on your seven–fold robe at the sound of the bell?”

C16

Master Wúmén’s Comment

In studying Chán, you should not be swayed by sounds and even though you attain insight when hearing a voice or seeing a form, this is simply the ordinary way of things.

Don’t you know that the real Chán student commands sounds, controls forms, are clear-sighted at every event and free on every occasion?

Granted you are free, just tell me: Does the sound come to the ear or does the ear go to the sound? If both sound and silence die away, at such a juncture how could you talk of Chán?

Abstraction

So as to say, once you are free and acknowledge that you are free to act

this creates for me a bifurcation (IDK about you)

a. and the falling of concepts has passed. (FOR THE PRESENT AT LEAST)

b. and the falling of concepts has not passed (FOR THE PRESENT AT LEAST)

------

Back to a case

C1

"If you do not pass through the barrier of the ancient masters, and do not cut off your mental constructs, then objects will lead around your consciousness as they appear. "

---

So, Wumen is saying "so sorry for you but you have to cut your mental constructs to proceed in zen"

I proceed to post...
