Why is this sub so contradictory with the known common assumptions about Zen?

Don't attack me, just saw how hostile everyone on this sub is lmao im just starting to dive deeper into Zen. So basically every article, history and data i've read (not books, not claiming to know anything about the subject) list meditation as a practice that Zen monks and masters do, on Zen monasteries etc, even read that meditation is encouraged to be done most of the time on a Zen monastery or school. But for some reason everyone on this sub seems to disagree and say that true Zen disaproves of Zazen or meditation, and that Zen schools don't meditate at all. So what do they even do on Zen schools? Im not quite sure how you even reach that level of introspection (Zen or Satori) without the slightest meditation practice (however you wanna call it I know everyone on here scolds both of those terms) so yeah, just confused about pretty much everything on here.
