What Next?

My study/reference library contains the following:

  • Three Chan Classics (Cleary)
  • The Records of Mazu and the Making of Classical Chan Literature (Poceski)
  • Book of Serenity (Cleary)
  • Two Zen Classics (Sekida)
  • The Record of Tung-Shan (Powell)
  • The Recorded Sayings of Zen Master Joshu (Green)
  • The Way of the Bodhisattva
  • The Zen Teaching of Bodhidharma (Pine)
  • Stopping & Seeing (Cleary)
  • An Introduction to Zen Buddhism (DT Suzuki)
  • Manual of Zen Buddhism (DT Suzuki)
  • The Zen Doctrine of No-Mind (DT Suzuki)
  • The Lankavatara Sutra (Pine)
  • The Awakening of Faith (Hakeda, Asvasgosa)
  • The Platform Sutra (Pine)
  • The Diamond Sutra (Pine)
  • The Heart Sutra (Pine)
  • The Zen Teachings of Master Lin-chi (Watson)
  • The Five Houses of Zen (Cleary)
  • Transmission of Light (Cleary)
  • Instant Zen (Cleary)
  • The Measuring Tap (Cleary)
  • The Sutra of Hui-Neng (Cleary)
  • Zen Lessons (Cleary)
  • The Blue Cliff Record (Cleary & Cleary)
  • Zen Master Yunmen (App)
  • Cultivating the Empty Field (Leighton)
  • Soto Zen Ancestors in China (Mitchell)
  • The Zen Teaching of Huang Po (Blofeld)
  • Zen Flesh, Zen Bones (Reps & Senzaki)
  • The Sayings of Layman P'ang (Green)
  • Zen and Zen Classics v. 1 - 5 (Blyth)

And I'm considering what to get next from this short list:

  • Master Ma's Ordinary Mind (Yamada)
  • Zen Letters: Teachings of Yuanwu (Cleary)
  • Teachings of Zen (Cleary)
  • Zen Under the Gun (Cleary)
  • The Bodhidharma Anthology (Broughton)
  • Swampland Flowers (Cleary)

Any advice on what to get, what to avoid, or what to prioritize (or if I've missed anything!) would be much appreciated! I have a few more books in my digital collection, but my physical collection - listed above - is very much the heart of my library. Assume that I've read and/or referenced extensively most of the titles that I already have.

Thanks in advance for your opinions and insights!
