What is the way of Zen? What is the path?

It is a path of no path?

Not till your thoughts cease all their branching here and there, not till you abandon all thoughts of seeking for something, not till your mind is motionless as wood or stone, will you be on the right road to the Gate.” “Here it is--right now. Start thinking about it and you miss it.”

There's a quick one from old Huang po, talking about being on the right road to the Gate, travelling on the back of a mind that is motionless...... How can the motionless mind be on the road? Surely that motionless mind is taking a fucking nap.

The mind is never motionless my man, it just seems that way, I think that is what Huang po is pointing to here, maybe something was lost in translation or that gret bell end Psui hui or whatever his face was missed the entire shit show..

Either way, I think that what Huang is alluding to here is that when the mind seems motionless, then that is precisely when we are attuned to circumstances, not raising any opposition to life, no negation, no rejection, not even any acceptance.. The mind is raising no waves, or there is no duality, no split that occurs between self and other.

This is the Way of Zen, to be totally in accordance with self and circumstance, a coherent oneness. ( Oh shit man, did my reference to one, imply that there may be two?)

How about a simultaneous singular multiplicity?
