The Real Shobogenzo: Dahui gives a passing grade

Dahui's Real Original, the First Shobogenzo, Vo. 2:

479 .  A monk asked Yunfeng, “Is there any [Zen Dharma] on mountain peaks and sheer cliffs?”  He said, “There is.”  The monk asked, “What is the [Zen Dharma] on mountain peaks and sheer cliffs?”  He said, “Monkeys climbing trees upside-down.”

Dahui said, “If people can accept and apply this, their lifetime’s study is finished.”

(Welcome link) (ewk^who?) note: Well, there you have it... Dahui finally not complaining about something. Now all we need is an explanation of what he wasn't complaining about... Why not start with why the monkey is upside down in the first place?
