Not Mind, Not Buddha

Case 33 "Not Mind, Not Buddha"

Mazu was asked by a Preceptor: "What is Buddha?"

Zu said: "Not mind, not Buddha."

Wumen says: "If, at this, you catch a glimpse, your study is thus complete."

Verse:

Stumbling upon a Swordsman, stand on-guard.

Not running upon a poet, don’t recite.

When speaking: tell one-third;

On no accounts bestow it all.

"Catching a glimpse; study complete'...Wumen really steals a torch in broad daylight going on and on like this.

What does this 'bestowing it all' look like; why the admonition?

(Clearly discern!)
