This is a comment from a resident wannabe "zen master" here on r/zen.
It really made me piss..
This forum denounces anyone who claims to be a master, since Bankei.. And there is also a huge gap of about 600 years, going back from Bankei, to the zen master acknowledged before that..
Are people here, really so delusional, to think that they are going to be the next great zen master, and leave a legacy for others to read about, like Bankei, Foyan or Huang po?
Or are most people who frequent this site, humble students, eager to learn about the ways of an interesting school of thought and tradition, that can help us, in our lives?
So, which one are you?
Wanna be zen master, or humble student?
