1 - Not Zen?
Suppose a person denotes your lineage and your teacher as Buddhism unrelated to Zen, because there are several quotations from Zen patriarchs denouncing seated meditation. Would you be fine saying that your lineage has moved away from Zen and if not, how would you respond to being challenged concerning it?
If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long lineage.
2 - What's your text?
What text, personal experience, quote from a master, or story from zen lore best reflects your understanding of the essence of zen?
Im hot cause im fly, you aint cause you not, this is why, this is why, this is why im hot. -mims
3 - Dharma low tides?
What do you suggest as a course of action for a student wading through a "dharma low-tide"? What do you do when it's like pulling teeth to read, bow, chant, sit, or post on r/zen*?*
If a low tide equates to not challenging yourself, I'd recommend getting pitted. Sometimes its not at all how you imagined it. I hate the dentist and I'll never enjoy it. But when teeth need to be pulled they need to be pulled. Occasionally they'll fall out on their own, or maybe I'll just get punched in the face irregardless.
4 - Tea choice?
Dandelion. I used to drink coffee, the smell and taste is amazing, but god damn it just went right through me.
Guys im not ready to do this ama, lets do it
