A monk said to Jo-shu: Sir, that famous stone bridge of Jo-shu--I have just come from it and I saw nothing but some stepping-stones.
Jo-shu said: So all you saw was some stepping stones? Do you mean to say you did not see the stone bridge?
The monk said: What do you mean by stone bridge?
Jo-shu said: Donkeys cross, horses cross.
Zhaozhou's stone bridge...what's the catch here?
Stepping-stones are a question of not getting your feet wet, bridges are a matter of crossing right over.
What are you preparing for?
It's not like you need a raft...
