Daoshen's Mirror of Mind: What does it mean to be a good person?

Again, the Dharma master Shilo[1] said: “The perfect miraculous way cannot be attained through the perfection of virtues;

the wisdom of the sages cannot be attained by the ‘existing mind’,

the ultimate truth cannot be understood through [the concept of] existence of self,

the virtues of the sages cannot be attained through actual doings.

(Welcome link) (ewkwho?) note: Aside from what the virtues are, we can agree that the virtues are what makes a good person "good". Similarly we can agree that doing good things doesn't make you good.

But what does it mean that Zen distances itself from "perfection of virtues"?
