From Case 282 of Dahui's Treasury of the Eye of the True Teaching
Master Zhou of Guangde Monastery in Rang Province said to an assembly:
"Before the bell just now had rung, you elders must have known the time; why should you show up? Holding a symbol of authority at my chest actually serves to submerge and cramp you elders. This being so, I've strewn sand in your eyes. The Buddhas of past, present, and future are on your noses turning the wheel of the great teaching--look, look!"
(pause)
"The rites of spring are being carried out in winter."
No idea who Zhou of Guangde is...any leads?
The Buddhas are right there on your noses...how will you sniff them out?
