Aversion (to religion) Attachment (to zen)

One is a hole in the ground and the other is a dry well. There is always the chance of a monsoon or a shift in tectonic plates, I suppose. Should such there be such an occurrence does one reject water from the hole but draw from the well?

If one in a robe tells you to empty a cup do you say “now this cup is full of emptiness”

Conversely

look Master my cup is empty The master replies “your cup is now full of emptiness, you doink”

This Same cup in this same monsoon is then overflowing.

Proudly i have emptied my cup of emptiness

Where does Bodhidharma get his drinking water?

THE GATELESS GATE, CASE 41 BODHIDHARMA PACIFIES THE MIND

THE MAIN CASE

Bodhidharma faced the wall. The Second Ancestor stood in the snow, cut off his arm and said," Your disciple's mind has no peace as yet. Master, please, put it to rest." Bodhidharma said, "Bring me your mind, and I will put it to rest." The Second Ancestor said, "I have searched for my mind, but I cannot find it." Bodhidharma said, "I have completely put it to rest for you."
