Amitabha in the Zutang Ji?

u/animuseternal shared this with me on the Buddhism subreddit and before tomorrow comes and I read more of it, I will throw this in here. Seems quite Mahayana no?

The master [Zhaozhou] said, “I do not like to hear the word ‘Buddha.’ If a senior monk recites the name of the Buddha even once, he should rinse his mouth out for three days.”

Another monk asked, “Master, are you then only human?”

The master replied, “A Buddha, a Buddha.”

“If the master were to receive a great king who came to make offerings, how would you respond to him?”

Zhaozhou replied, “Nianfo.”

Someone asked, “Do the Buddhas of the ten directions have a teacher or not?”

The master said, “They have.”

The monk, surprised, asked, “Who is the teacher of all Buddhas?

The master replied, “Amitabha.”
