Especially since the social media medium is words, but also because each person coming here does have a set of interests that are initially not disclosed, even if an AMA is conducted.
Part of the fun, or challenge, is to find out what our own interests/motives are, and also to expose the interests/and motives of the others we meet here.
But today's post is to notice whether any particular post or comment is drawing the focus to zen, or whether a particular post is drawing people into something else, especially if the poster or commenter themselves is drawing more and more focus on themselves or their own pursuits. This is where for them, self has become a center, a magnet that is separate.
Its kind of like an art, a skill, a trade, where the "worker" is heading towards celebrity, and that is disproportionately cultivated. The alternative is where the trajectory of life, whether its zen or not, where the art, skill, trade, output of the person is more accentuated. In a lot of cases its hard to tell, it takes a little time to study the phenonmenon, it can look like the person and their creation are intrinsically intertwined.
But lets look at the zen stories, the conversations and see if we can identify a pattern. Get a sense of what the zen family was sharing.
TLDR. Is it about me? Am I seeking people to get involved in my own set of unique attributes and personal traits? Or is it about a "one" first, a place where "me" is a back up character.
If zen was a movie, would there be a leading "star"? Or would the "star" of a zen movie be something else besides any particular individual?
So far, I have seen both mental aberrations and sexual confusion being used for attention whoring. Both can make a person feel special and unique, both can appear somewhat interesting for reasons of novelty or challenging convention. Still, worth being aware of.
We do live in a time when some children and pets, even some machines and dwellings or other structures, some places, do not get sufficient attention and recognition. Sometimes we also don't take enough care of our own health, or our own finances, etc. So there are a lot of people who do need some extra attention, who have been cast aside, who are broken.
Pets, children, even cars, have a way of becoming high maintenance when insufficiently acknowledged.
We are going to have this kind of thing in our midst where ever we go, might as well call it out. Might as well tug the leash once in a while if it gets out of hand.
