This phrase that u/blue_sky_record posted in my previous OP really hit home.
A quote from Linji I had read before, but didn’t really understand. I remember reading similar things in Foyan’s Instant zen, about conserving energy.
Recently I’ve discussed thinking about thoughts. But all the questions I have, all the answers I gave and received, all of it didn’t satisfy my doubts.
Upon seeing that phrase again, about being without concern, I realized just how completely concerned I have been.
Without concern about lacking something, some truth or understanding, I feel no desire to seek.
Without concern for thoughts I think, I don’t get caught up and dragged around by them.
Without concern for “saving others” I have no desire to teach or spread any “truth.”
Without concern for myself or others, what is there to worry about?
Without concern for concern, even this is just a drop in the ocean.
Without concern, I feel like I can take it slow and actually see what’s been right in front of me from the start.
Is this just another “truth” I’ve found about concepts and concerns? Or is this something some of you have realized as true?
