Is Zen functional or concerned with being functional? Why, why not? If yes, how so?

By functional, I mean appropriate for dealing with life's problems: suffering, debt, procrastination, addiction, despair, depression, anxiety, natural disasters, wear and tear, maintenance, relationships, health, finances, planning, regret, bullying, aggression, loss, change, dissatisfaction etc.

Something that I might describe as functional would be stoicism.

If Zen is functional, how can it be used to help with the above problems?
