I was reading some stuff about child molesters within the Catholic Church, and I immediately remembered all the sex predators that are often mentioned in this forum.
I was telling a friend that the quality of a tradition kinda reflects on how effective it is to detect and weed out sex predators. I told her:
If a sex predator even had attempted to join the original, ancient Chan tradition, they would've probably beaten the shit out of him.
But I don't know that for sure, I wanted to get your input.
Given how strongly sex predators are mentioned in here as a marker of a flawed tradition... what would've happened if a sex predator tried to join the Chan tradition in its first centuries?
(caveat: such tradition didn't involve many women or children, so in this case this would involve grown men predating on other grown men. I don't know if this invalidates the question)
