"Good" or "Bad" - What are all of the methods for Zen practice?

I imagine debate about the different methods will ensue, but I want to see if there is something out there I haven't run into. These seem to be the categories:

  • Hua Tou (話頭, Korean: hwadu, Japanese: wato)
  • Kōan (公案) (/ˈkoʊæn, -ɑːn/;[1] Chinese: 公案; pinyin: gōng'àn, [kʊ́ŋ ân]; Korean: 공안 gong-an; Vietnamese: công án)
  • Meditation (Under various name) - Silent Illumination, Shikantaza, Zazen, etc.
  • Interactions with a "Zen master"
  • Self study

There are also several methods within each method as well. Various ways to do huatou practice. Koan study ranging from focusing on a single koan for years to a koan curriculum with hundreds of koans. Different styles of meditation.

Most methods seem to be connected to having a teacher act as a guide (koan, huatou, meditation).

Is there something I'm leaving out? As I'm about to hit "post" sutra chanting came to mind but that seems more of a Buddhist thing than a Zen thing.
