Meister Eckhart on Linji.

"Theologians may quarrel, but the mystics of the world speak the same language."

'nuf said.

Though I'd like to add that I just went out to shop, found the supermarket closed, thought "WTF is it Sunday nah It really shouldn't be, darn I left my phone at home", procured myself a Döner, came back home, looked at the calendar, saw that it is Thursday, thought "?", googled, and discovered that my state made Reformation day a public holiday a year ago which I didn't notice because vacation.

Said day I'm hereby honoring by ignoring Luther because he's a) a theologican and thus b) has no good Zen quote or thought whatsoever, and instead defer to Meister Eckhart, the actual source of the Reformation. Powerful forces within the Hierarchy1 tried hard to paint him as a heretic but nothing ever stuck to him. How could it, he was writing about truth in a language they already agreed to.

1 The Hierarchy. The word originally refers to the administration of the Catholic Church, other meanings came later.
