I have read responses from u/ewk and the implications from others that Buddhism and Zen are incompatible but I still see references to becoming Buddha. This confuses me.
I am clearly ignorant and admit my only exposure has been to Japanese Zen which, it has been made clear here, is not the same thing as what the focus is on here.
Will someone help reconcile this for me?
Before anyone jumps on me. I have ordered a couple books from the reading list. I live in the middle of nowhere with no bookstores so have to wait for them to arrive by mail.
