[ The Kuei Yang Sect (Ikyo Zen) by Lu K’uan Yü [Charles Luk] In: Ch'an and Zen Teaching - Series Two Rider, London, 1961, pp. 69-83. https://terebess.hu/zen/Yang-Shan.pdf ]
Hui Chi asked, 'Where is the abode of the real Buddha?' Ling Yu replied, 'Turn inwards the subtlety of your thoughtless thinking to think of the boundless spiritual brightness until your thinking is exhausted, then return it to its source (where) the fundamental nature and its phenomenal expressions eternally abide, where activity and principle are not a dualism and where is the suchness of the real Buddha.' Upon hearing this, Hui Chi was instantaneously enlightened.
I really do not have a lot to say about this just thought some would appreciate it, Oh reading the first part from the terebess link I was a bit awed to read yangshan as a boy cut two of his fingers off to let his parents know how serious he was to leave the home in search of a Dharma teacher. I just played basketball and drank wine as a boy, at the same time sometimes... sorry to my friends backpack I puked on. Happy Trails!
