Introducing myself

I've taken a roundabout way to zen so far.

For most of my life, I've felt a drive to get past anything I thought was tied to an illusory preconception. At first, that meant taking a "mind over matter" approach to experiencing cold, or pain, or hunger--obviously subjective things like that.

Then, in studying chemistry, I came to see that the world of "matter" is a far cry from the sort of material physicality I had always taken for granted, in that electromagnetic forces (or, probably better to say, electroweak interactions) account for most of what we think of as being "real stuff."

On top of that, by way of investigating the nature of gravity and time by way of physics, I eventually realized that all of experience is subjective (though of course that is a tautology).

Skipping a few steps (because what words could suffice?), I stumbled one day onto the co-definite nature of the objective and subjective, and a glimpse of this suspension in the void.

Nice to be here, and nice to meet you.
