What kind of experiences have you fine Zen students had with Zen teachers?

One anecdote that comes to my mind is the story of when I was on retreat with a Korean Zen monk and teacher.

We were all together at the dinner table enjoying a fine Meal in relative silence when one of the youngest members of our fine ordeal spoke up with quite a convoluted question about morality and kidnapping etc. He went on for quite awhile. And it was quite clear that he was really excited and attached to this question and it's relavence.

When he finished the master said in a way I truly can't do justice, "You are eating donkey shit." It was as if the master unsheathed his sword. Chopped the young man's head off in an instant and than sheathed it again and went back to eating like nothing happened.

This encounter led me to quite a joyous feeling and almost spit out what was in my mouth.

Anyways how about y'all?
