Thank you all for your various replies to my previous post here. I think I have come to the realization that opinionated discourse (ego, arguments, disagreements, bickering, etc.) is a valuable part of practice because it is an opportunity to present oneself with one's own deeply held attachments--even while trying to convey them to someone else--and eventually be able to let them go yourself. Is that what a koan is, in essence? An opportunity to work through it all...be wrong, be right, and eventually be beyond it all?
