There is no question that the most faithful evangelists in Dogen's religion were sex predators, or strongly favored sex predators: /r/zen/wiki/sexpredators
Doesn't it seemly likely that putting one's faith in a religious practice that encourages spiritual arrogance would tend to increase the number of sex predators in that religion?
Zen Masters, in contrast, hold public accountability as the standard for whether or not a "practice" works. Consider Dongshan, an actual Caodong Master, being given the nickname, "He Who Questions Head Monks to Death".
