Deluded Zen

“Many people study Zen, but encounter Zen teachers without clear perception of truth. They make arbitrary explanations and take their subjective interpretation of Zen sayings for final truths. Their aim is to be recognized as understanding Zen. This is a most serious malady.” —Zen Master Mi-An - Instant Zen

I have suffered from this malady, perhaps still. I don’t know how serious anything is though. I didn’t stop caring, I just relaxed. There was just no more fight in me honestly. I felt like a fallen monarch among his people piss drunk sloshing paint all over the place. I was just tired of all the knowing everywhere when I didn’t know shit.

Then I saw they were all just playing and having serious fun. What do I care what this one or that one says, don’t tread on me, who am I?

That question hangs in the air over my head, letters of red dust.

I like the style of “Instant Zen”, but I can’t read much in one sitting, like a thousand cutting blades.
