Bursting the Bubble

I am just a student of zen, this is just a simple idea.

Wherever you are, relax into the present moment. Hopefully you have some practice in this. Step backwards, get to the root of things.

From there, be present with your current senses and surroundings.

Now, think as many thoughts as possible. Move from each thought as quickly as you can. Rush through them, speed them up. Sprint with your mind. Speak to yourself sub-vocally as loudly and fast as possible.

While this happens, you may feel the urge to grit your teeth, tense your forehead, or even subtly move the muscles in the tip of your tongue to follow along with your thoughts. Do not allow any of these things to happen. Stay rooted in your body.

Sprint, but keep it contained in your mind. Be completely still on the outside. Try and create as much resistance between these two things as possible. The stillness of reality against the intensity of thought. Feel it trying to burst out like a bubble.

Maybe you will find some progress here. Good luck!
