An open letter to the user Ewk.

I'm not a perfect person, I'm certainly not a perfect monk.

I'm not a teacher or a Zen master.

I'm simply a practioner of Zen.

It's at the heart of my life and Outlook and it's what I love.

I'm not ashamed of my past or fearful for my future.

Are there things I regret? Sure.

I no longer wish to be targeted or harassed with the same old rhetoric.

Everyday and every moment every human being is born.

Every breath a new beginning.

I just want to say to you... I love you. I accept you.

I know you are not my idea of you.

I hope in some small way you can recognize me in a similar way as well as recognizing some of the other members of the subreddit in that way.

I am aware that you compose and save in your computer a database of users here.

You save their username and than write up a small paragraphs about how you view them and how you feel about them. You also hyperlink aspects of the paragraph to reference precious experiences you've had with said user or other such write ups that give more information about your beliefs about the user.

I no longer want to see that happening on this subreddit.

I want to see free expression, open dialogue. Real inquiry.

No more ego stuff.

This place is really an awesome community and I want to see it thrive.

I think when you try and create a narrative about people from a very limited perspective it sometimes can make this place feel not only unwelcoming but also in some sense a place of aggression and harrasment.

So, in closing. Let's move forward. Let's take the turning word and start from a fresh position where we are all able to comment and post freely without harrasment.

If someone sais something that you get curious about ask them honestly, inquire, share, be open.

With metta and hope.

A lonely monk :) -Gassho

So far all the responses have been wildly inappropriate and aggressive.
