Evidence and sense-data

When some hear of 'seeing your nature' they take it to mean 'use your vision and/or other senses'. Zen masters however do not make this assertion. They don't say that your sense-data shows you whatever. This sorta ties into what a lot bring up as 'evidence'. Evidence is still wrapped up in the blanket of sense-data. This isn't to say that sense-data and evidence aren't important, but often times we take it for granted and so we don't penetrate.
