Not sure how to word that question, but through zen practice I've come to realize everything is born from a single source. I came to this understanding before reading any philosophy or religion books, so my thought wasn't likely contaminated or influenced by others in that regard.
I've read some basic metaphysical works out of curiosity, and it seems that perrenial philosophy says all true religions originate from the same universal truth. Call it whatever you want...God, The Void, The Womb of the Tathagata, That which is beyond, beyond, whatever.
Some people use Zen to refer to the religion of Zen, and some use it to refer to that which the religion is pointing to.
Isn't that what all true religions were originally informed by, and attempted to point to, before they were totally wrecked by centuries of human meddling and ignorance?
Whenever a person (regardless of religious affiliation) has a true insight into the nature of things, isn't the root of that realization the same? (Regardless of the relative way the person perceives it, or how deeply they see it, or from what unique perspective they see it?)
There seem to be many, many, many paths / doors to realization. But aren't they all opening up to the same view?
i.e. When I have a realization, I feel like all beings are also having a realization. And I heard some Buddhists said similar things.
Ehh... I give up.
