What? It seems to be a topic of discussion on this forum.
We're concerned with the legitimacy of old masters who are raised to objects of veneration years after their departure.
Vietnam, massacres, Buddhism.
Cambodia, massacres, Buddhism.
Tibet, massacres, Buddhism.
And more.
Preserving the traditions in human lineage for hundreds of years. Protecting human lives, masters holding the dharma want to transmit it, but maybe they can't even find one student in a hundred years.
Were the old masters concerned with personal survival?
What about transmitting the seal? Did they care?
We're still talking about them today, aren't we.
