Apparently there have been some debates yet again in the sister forum, where they even deleted the link to this sub-reddit. It was a debate whether or not zen is a buddhist branch. Whatever.
I think this sub-reddit is a disgrace to zen. Do you even read your sidebar? If you have then you would have learned at least that through this dharma way, the ''message'' is without words. Have you ever read the flower sermon? The flower sermon is indeed zen, what happens in this forum is a travesty.
Who are those zen ''patriarchs'' you mention all the time? You make posts about them, writing down some nonsense they said, you believe there is some hidden meaning or profound insight and then you respond with further nonsense in the comments. Other times you post some koans, which are also nonsense, trying to figure out their meaning. Well i got news for you. They are indeed nonsense, so that you would understand that you can't explain everything with your mind and to give up. Where mind stop, zen begins.
Also this controversy about whether or not zen is a buddhism branch. Don't care about it. If it happens to be a question in ''who wants to be a millionaire'' answer yes. The dharma ways do not originate from the buddha anyway. He admitted it himself, that he just rediscovered them in the Lankavatara sutra.
