Pretend Zen

All of us have the potential to awaken to our true nature (kenshō) to become Buddhas. But sadly most of us confuse potential with actually seeing our fundamental nature. Using our imagination we pretend that we are already Buddhas. We imagine that whether walking, standing, sitting or lying down this is Buddhahood. When we read the Zen masters we naturally agree with what they say. Thus we imagine that this confirms we are Buddhas. But how can this be? We have yet to see our true nature (kenshō). We are nothing more than 'Zen Larpers' (fancy name for playing pretend Zen).
