I wonder if I had love in my life would I be here? Then again, I wonder if I had love in my life wherever else would I be but here?
Love isn't written of overtly in zen dialogues, but the more I read the BCR/BOS the more I see the unspoken affection shared by the old men for their students. True love is tacit, not overt. Why do I insist on overt displays when I know they're empty? To my own detriment I insist, while the silent truth of love is as clear as light.
I don't know.
There's a snag in me I can't un-snag myself from. Prodding the void with my tongue where a tooth used to be.
I haven't forgotten you, Dad. I hope you found the riverboat man.
I love you.
