Zen is not an opinion

Opinions are fragmentary and divide people; Zen cannot be divided. Zen is whole, complete, without lacking. When one comes into contact with Zen, there is a sense of equanimity even when there appears to be opposing forces. Although there are doctrines and beliefs about Zen, Zen is not a doctrine or a belief. There isn't anything one needs to believe in, in order to Zen. In fact, everything is Zenning all the time and the only difference between a master and student is that the master sees Zen in everything while the student does not; even in opinions that aren't Zen. Paradoxical? Yes, that's the point.

Abrasive people such as Ewk are like koans. They are a paradoxical anecdote or riddle, used in Zen Buddhism to demonstrate the inadequacy of logical reasoning and to provoke enlightenment. Being angry at the abrasive goers of r/zen is like being angry when one fails to make one hand clap. Being hung up on such a person, is like being hung up on the sound of one hand clapping. Rather than engaging in likened disdain or division, it's best to utilize such interactions as a tool to examine the mental obstructions we each have. Rather than trying to force an intellectual pattern onto ewkism, treat it as any other koan.

Zen isn't reading books but one can Zen while reading books.
