About an Oak Tree

A monk asked, "Does the oak tree have the Buddha nature?"

Joshu said, "Yes it does."

The monk asked, "When will it reach enlightenment?"

Joshu said, "It's waiting for the sky to fall."

The monk asked, "When will the sky fall?"

Joshu said, "It's waiting for the oak tree to reach enlightenment."
