Xuansha's 3-in-1 Oil: No stages, Door of nothing, No intention is helping

Xuansha Shibei (heir of Xuefeng), from Cleary's scholarship failure "Teachings of Zen":

The way of buddhas [of the Awakened People] is wide open, without any stages. The door of nothing is the door to liberation; having no intention is the will to help others. It is not within the past, present, and future, so it cannot rise and sink....

ewk ^book note ^index - Where did this teaching come from? Who are the heirs of it? If names don't matter, why use names? If teachings don't matter, why claim a lineage? People wonder where Wumen got "door of nothing", well, where did Xuansha get it?
