Venerable Myokyo-ni used to joke that she was really three hundred years old!
She described the rural area of Austria where she originated as being happily stuck in that time period. Some may have seen this as a stubborn refusal to ‘move with the times’; however perhaps it was rather a restraining hand on our fascination with everything new. Continued
