why is dogen upsetting?

he's a chimera, had a genuine dia kensho and says its fundamental , but also constructed a religion

he was a son of kyoto which has religion in its very fabric . .

but dia kensho is very very distinct, it can't be faked, even to oneself and nothing makes sense until it happens

ewk knows he's never had it so this is why he dislikes dogen and hakuin, to validate these men leaves him and the rest of buji out on a limb . .

of course the religious people are just as much out on a limb as they argue belief, a sort of 'social normity', rituals, statues any sort of proxy . .

proxying takes you in circles . . .
